Our project, Bag on Track, currently consists of five members. We work together to further the mission of our project: fighting fast fashion through the production of sustainably made bags created out of recycled bike innertubes. Our bags are currently sold through Instagram in a product drop style. Bike tubes are a very sturdy, durable, and waterproof material, making it perfect for our products to be long-lasting and sustainable. Currently, there is no alternative way to recycle inner tubes hence why it is imperative to find a method to upcycle them, which is what Bag on Track aims to do. 

Our main goal this year is garnering more attention towards our products as well as trying to expand sales to the surrounding community in Utrecht. We will attempt to place our bags into local sustainability stores, starting by increasing the quality of the products in general. Currently, we are researching ways in which to do this, such as by exploring different sewing methods and designs that would contribute to the aesthetic of the product. We also plan to participate in events such as the university’s fashion show and in collaboration with the art committee (ArtsCo) to raise awareness about our sales. Finally, we will further develop our social media pages in order to reach a bigger target audience and to aid in the sale of our products through the Instagram page.
